At Las Vegas Veterinary Referral Center we are dedicated to ensure the best care possible and to educate owners about treatment options for their pet’s ocular conditions. We aim to address ocular problems before they lead to site threatening conditions and to minimize pain associated with certain eye conditions. This is managed with recommended eye examinations, client education and preventative medicine being stressed.

 

CERF Examinations

Dr. William Weinstein currently performs CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation) examinations at the Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center. This is an ocular certification examination performed only by a board certified ACVO Diplomate.

The CERF examination generates valuable information for a database which ultimately aids in improving the ocular health for many breeds.

Wellness ophthalmic examinations should be performed on all pets regardless of their breeding status for the benefit of early detection of disease that can cause discomfort and blindness. All pets should have slit lamp biomicroscopy and indirect ophthalmic examination performed on them in their lifetime. Some pets may require more regular exams if abnormalities are noted.
