Dr. Andrew Vaughan was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and was trained at the University of Prince Edward Island in eastern Canada. A 2002 veterinary graduate, Dr. Vaughan went on to complete an internship and oncology residency at North Carolina State University, before joining the LVVSC team as head of medical oncology in 2006. Along the way, Dr. Vaughan was on the executive board of the Veterinary Cancer Society and served as the chair of the board of the Animal Foundation. While working at LVVSC, Dr. Vaughan has managed numerous clinical trials with a particular research interest on canine osteosarcoma and melanoma and targeted chemotherapeutics. Outside of work, Dr Vaughan enjoys spending time with his wife, Leann, and their three-legged dog Chance. Dr. Vaughan’s other love is the great outdoors, which he enjoys most on bicycle, skis or snowshoes.
